Job Description
Join our team as a Calibration Officer (Field) and play a key role in supporting road safety across Victoria. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for examining, testing, and calibrating road safety enforcement technology and traffic systems to ensure their accuracy and performance. Working closely with the Test Engineer and Business Manager – Traffic Systems, you’ll help maintain high standards of safety, professionalism, and technical excellence across all field operations.

Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Testing road safety enforcement and traffic systems equipment to verify compliance with standards or client requirements.
  • Recording test results, assessments, and observations for compliance and reference.
  • Preparing clear written reports based on test findings.
  • Logging time spent on testing for reporting and fee scheduling purposes.
  • Taking responsibility for the test equipment used.
  • Ensuring testing is conducted efficiently and cost-effectively to support budget goals.
  • Performing tests safely and effectively to maintain a healthy work environment.
  • Ensuring all Traffic Systems equipment remains within calibration date.
  • Writing and maintaining calibration procedures for enforcement technology equipment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE:

  • A basic understanding of measurement and testing techniques, as well as the principles behind road safety enforcement and traffic systems equipment.
  • Knowledge of Traffic Management and roadside HSE practices.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to document results, write technical reports, and understand technical instructions and standards.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering (or working towards one), or an equivalent qualification.
