Requirements Due to business growth, we are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Calibration/Quality Technician to join our precision machine shop team. Reporting to the Quality Manager, this role is critical to ensuring that all measurement instruments and machining equipment meet required standards and that finished products comply with Quality specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of metrology, machining processes, and Quality Control systems. Responsibilities Perform calibration of measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMMs) according to established schedules and procedures. Maintain calibration records and ensure traceability to national/international standards. Conduct inspections of machined parts using precision measuring tools to verify conformance to specifications. Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conforming products. Support internal audits and customer Quality audits as needed. Collaborate with machinists and engineers to resolve Quality issues and improve processes. Maintain and update Quality documentation, including inspection reports, calibration logs, and control plans. Ensure compliance with AS9100 or other applicable Quality standards. Operate and maintain Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and other advanced inspection equipment. Train shop personnel on proper use and care of measurement tools and Quality procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or Associates degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in calibration or Quality inspection in a machine shop or manufacturing environment. Proficiency in using precision measurement tools and interpreting engineering drawings and GD&T. Familiarity with ISO standards and Quality Management Systems. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Basic computer skills (MS Office, calibration software, ERP systems). Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Skills Experience with CMM programming and operation. Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and Six Sigma methodologies. Familiarity with AS9100 or other industry-specific Quality standards. Must be a citizen of or person admitted lawfully for permanent residence into the United States. This is a DOD requirement for receiving technical information and distributing.
