Description Position Description The Calibration Technician (Electronic/Mechanical) position performs calibrations at a high level, measurement, and test equipment in Electrical and Mechanical disciplines, and uses at least a base knowledge of Medical equipment and Thermodynamics. Responsibilities Perform calibrations and adjustments, measurements on test equipment in the following disciplines Electrical, Mechanical, Medical, Thermodynamics. and some Time and Frequency. Maintain both primary and secondary calibration standards. Collect calibration data, and record information on data sheets. Complete calibration data sheets and certificates, including out of tolerance conditions. Working independently without direct supervision at both the imbedded calibration lab, as well as the customers facility. Clearly communicate calibration issues and procedures with customers and coworkers on the phone, in person, and through email. Train and supervise fellow junior technicians in use of standards and calibration procedures. Other duties and responsibilities. Requirements Qualifications Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the calibration of Electrical, Mechanical, Thermodynamic and Time & Frequency test equipment required. One year of Medical Lab equipment calibrations preferred. Experience with Fume Hood calibration is a plus. One year of commercial calibration lab experience is a plus. Military PMEL or TMDE training is a plus. Civilian or Commercial calibration experience is a plus. Experience with ISO 17025:2017, ANSI Z540.1, and ANSI Z540.3 is a plus. High School diploma or equivalent, and current driver’s license required. Basic mathematics including Algebra. Bilingual Spanish speaking is a plus. Experience in Excel is preferred. Ability to work both independently to accomplish daily workload. Ability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance. Work Environment Work performed imbedded at the customers facilities. Main lab in Beckman Coulter’s Kendall location and infrequent travel to Hialeah.
