Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Calibration Technician is responsible for fabricating NIST-traceable calibration and reference standards in support of multiple functional departments. Technicians will diligently and accurately execute work orders, work instructions, and standard operating procedures. The fabrication of standards will be accomplished using vacuum systems, torches, pharmaceutical-grade glassware, and NIST-traceable materials/equipment. Technicians will analyze fabricated standards for quality on Lighthouse Instruments' Headspace Gas Analyzers and generate documentation to support the fabrication process. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Reports to the Calibration Supervisor Collaborates with Manufacturing, Measurement Services, Tech Services, and Sales Various interactions with management and employees External: N/A ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Fabricate calibration and reference standards from pharmaceutical glassware to support multiple functional departments (e.g., Manufacturing, Measurement Services, Technical Services, and Sales). Analyze fabricated standard data for quality and accuracy. Generate standards reports to establish NIST traceability. Coordinate with manufacturing; prioritize and complete standards in accordance with the manufacturing schedule. Provide support for the recertification of customer calibration and reference standards. Maintain laboratory equipment. Transport, hook up, and disconnect pressurized cylinders. Support other functional departments as assigned by management. All other duties as assigned. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: High mechanical and scientific aptitude. Natural and/or applied sciences field of study. Acute attention to detail. Ability to quickly conceptualize and troubleshoot complex systems. Proficiency with Google G-Suite, MS Office Products, and Libre Office. Education: Currently pursuing or a recent graduate with an Associate's degree or higher with heavy emphasis on natural and/or applied sciences. Interest in Learning, Knowledge of, or previous experience with: Vacuum pumps and systems. Quality assurance and/or data analytics. NIST-accredited equipment. Glass blowing and torch work.
