Description Overall Purpose: Why the Job Exists & What You Will Do: The Calibration Technician is responsible for oversight and execution of the company’s calibration processes to ensure compliance with all customer, regulatory, and internal requirements. Essential Job Functions & Expected Outcomes: Your Accountabilities in the Role: Coordinate all external calibrations and perform some internal calibrations on simple gages such as micrometers, calipers, and height gages. Create and/or revise calibration procedures for all internal calibration processes and establish calibration criteria for any new gaging or measurement equipment. Utilize electronic/web-based gage management system to account for all gages in the facility. Coordinate repair or replacement for broken gages and measurement equipment. Ensure NIST traceability on all calibrations performed both internally and externally. Procure gages as requested by various departments. Set up all of the gaging for operations on a daily basis based on the jobs they are running. Collect all gaging that is nearing due for calibration from Manufacturing and Quality Inspection and coordinate or perform the calibrations. Assist Quality and Operations in investigations in the event that a gage or measurement equipment is found to be at of tolerance at the time of calibration. Suggest and implement improvements where needed to improve quality and delivery performance. Read blueprints to ensure material specification and tolerances are met. Observes safety and security procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions. Requirements Position Requirements: Education: High school or equivalent Experience: Manufacturing: 2 years Minimum of 2 years Metrology experience Strong Math Skills Must possess basic knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements (experience with AS900 and or ISO 13485 would be a bonus.) Certification(s): N/A Functional Skills: Must have strong attention to detail Fundamental knowledge of CNC machining/manufacturing machining principles Maintains professional and technical knowledge Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints Demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude Fundamental knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and techniques Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential Technology Aptitude/Skills: Microsoft Office suite, (must be familiar with Excel and other Microsoft applications.) Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, strong ability to create/write work instructions and train others.
