An exciting opportunity exists for a calibration technician within our Joint Gas Support and Test Equipment (JGSTE) laboratory team at Cannon Hill, QLD. Our Calibration Technicians are highly regarded and provide meaningful support to the ADF and its many platforms that truly contribute to the defence of our nation. We are looking for a technician that is open and excited to learn the metrological principles of an ISO 17025 accredited calibration laboratory and apply their existing technical knowledge to help maintain the fleet of equipment for which JGSTE is contracted. Perform calibrations on a variety of customer equipment in the fields of Pressure, Force, Torque, Flow, Optical, Temperature, and Electrical (DCLF). Prepare certificates and reports with consistent attention to detail. Provide feedback to the Senior Technicians or Laboratory Manager on anomalies discovered whilst using reference equipment. Perform calibration in place activities at customer sites under direction from senior staff. Skills, Experience & Qualifications Certificate III or equivalent in one of the following Engineering disciplines: Electronics Communications Information and Communications Technology Previous experience working in a calibration lab environment is highly regarded. Experience in the maintenance of complex Defence mission systems. Experience with hand tools and other basic technical equipment. Capable of meeting the physical demands of moving and operating equipment.
