JOB TITLE - CAM SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Duties and Responsibilities
The CAM Software Engineer in the Applications department is a software expert on Mazak TubeDX and Mazak Smart System. This position is responsible for operational customer support as well as technical support to our sales staff. Customer support duties include teaching TubeDX and Smart System training classes both at Mazak and the customer’s facility, and customer phone support. Sales support duties include conducting Tube DX and Smart System software demonstrations for customer visits and trade shows; and processing time studies for potential new customers.
Skills/Knowledge

The CAM Software Engineer requires the following knowledge and skills:

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written as well as the ability to conduct presentations to small to mid-size groups.
  • General understanding of mechanical blueprints, CAD/CAM programming, and preferably two years of CNC machine operation.
  • Knowledge of Solidworks.
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised both at Mazak and remote customer locations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication

Conditions
The CAM Software Engineer is a full time position requiring to be in the office with occasional overtime. This position reports to a Software Supervisor.
Education/Experience
A two-year technical degree in Mechanical engineering, Lasers, Electronics, Robotics, Manufacturing or similar is required. A four-year degree in an engineering or science program is preferred. A minimum of 2 years of experience working with CNC controlled manufacturing equipment is required, preferably lasers.
