As a camera prep technician, you will work directly with students and faculty to troubleshoot equipment operation errors and determine solutions. You will ensure students and faculty receive the correct equipment during checkout and that it is in good condition. When equipment is returned, you will inspect it again to verify it has not been damaged. Among other duties, you will enter, record, and store information in both written and electronic formats and promptly escalate trouble reports to the inventory manager. Additionally, you will ensure all equipment is stored in a neat and orderly manner.
In this role, you will ensure that all camera kits and equipment are packed for the next day’s pickup. At the end of each quarter, you will assist with tool inventory. You will also report problems encountered during your shift and the building’s status to the operations manager each day. Responsibilities include inspecting studio spaces, enforcing studio policies, and conducting building walkthroughs at closing time to ensure readiness for the next day. Other duties may be assigned at any time by the operations manager or the director of film and digital media.
The ideal candidate has excellent customer service, time management, and multitasking skills, along with a keen eye for detail. They work well under pressure and can think critically to solve problems.
