CAMHS Clinical Specialist (Professionally registered Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist, Systemic Psychotherapist, Clinical or Counselling Psychologist, Nurse or Social Worker)
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Neurodevelopmental Team, a well-established, dynamic and supportive core team within Lewisham CAMHS.
The team provides a service to children and young people with complex
neurodevelopmental and /or moderate to severe learning disabilities and their families.
Referrals are received from Health including GP and Child Health, Children’s Social Care,
and Education. Children and young people referred have a range of difficulties including
challenging behaviour and significant mental health problems. In response we provide assessments and evidence-based interventions/treatment. The post holder will have experience offering evidence based interventions to ideally, neurodivergent children and families. Appropriate training will be provided for the right candidate

To provide CAMHS assessments and evidence-based interventions to children referred to the NDT
To contribute to the service’s MDT when discussing formulations and treatment plans.
To e nsure that all recording and reporting of client contact are accurate, up to date, of good quality and within CAMHS and professional requirement standards of record keeping. To collect & collate information about individual clinical activity on ePJS

§ To provide support and advise parents/carers through parenting interventions and psychoeducation, as well as offer consultation and advice to their professional networks

  • To think creatively, work flexibly and have a range of clinical skills in working alongside others to support a complex range of service users and their network.

T o link with other statutory and voluntary agencies and professionals as well as other CAMHS Teams in terms of referrals and joint work. Maintain good relationships and clear lines of communication with other professional agencies and departments, providing specialist advice and support where appropriate
