CAMHS Support Worker Band 4
This is an exciting opportunity to become a valued member of our passionate, supportive, and highly experienced teams within the Child and Adolescent services.
The role will be based with the Crisis Team.
The C risis T eam offer a follow up service to y oung people (YP) under 18 who have presented with a mental health crisis at hospital or from the First Response Service. We also offer s hort-term intervention work and brief intervention and risk management support to those stepping down from tier 4 care.

  • Work as part of CAMHS Team to provide the highest standards of safe and compassionate care to children and young people to maximise their recovery and treatment plan.
  • Work under the supervision/direction of registered health care professionals within a mental health setting to support children and young people emotional wellbeing needs.
  • Provide 1-1 individual work or group work to children, young people and their families where additional mental health support is required under the supervision of a care-coordinator.
  • Work with vulnerable and risky children and young people with the direct supervision of a care-coordinator or line manager.
  • Develop and maintain meaningful therapeutic relationships with children and young people. Adopt a positive and empathetic approach, communicating effectively and informatively.
  • To work within an agreed care plan, risk assessment and crisis and contingency plan
  • To seek support as and when necessary, either with the registered professional, care coordinator or the management team.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of the care/treatment and interventions of children and young people within the mental health care setting.
