Job Details Job Location: PMC-Camp Rappahannock, Virginia - Richardsville, VA 22736 Job Category: Camp Schedule/Hours: Seasonal Full-Time This position is responsible for: Plans, coordinates, supervises and evaluates the day-to-day operations of the canteen and assists in the office under the office manager; maintains stock of drinks and snacks; conducts inventory of all clothing, food, and beverages; responsible for cash received at the canteen; supervises other staff member assigned to work the canteen. Key Responsibilities: Coordinates the stocking of the canteen with drinks and snacks and drink machines; Ensures popular items are always available. Orders are to be approved before being placed with vendors. Maintains record of canteen supplies used for camp program. Prepares detailed inventory of all clothing, food, and beverages. Monitors any cash received at the canteen until turned into the Camp Office Manager. Maintains and cleans canteen daily to include emptying garbage cans, checking restrooms, re-stocking supplies, and hosing outside area. Receives, records, and secures camper money on registration days. Assists with copying, filing or other office responsibilities as needed. Assists with preparations for camper registration including checking in paperwork. Participates enthusiastically as a member of the camp staff team to deliver and supervise evening programs, special events, overnights and other all-camp activities and camp functions. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Some physical requirements of the Camp Canteen Specialist position could be endurance including climbing, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate activities are required. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Have a willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours delivering a program in the facility available. Operate with daily exposure to the sun and heat and varying environmental conditions. Additional Information: Camp Staff Orientation will be held 06/15/2026 – 06/21/2026 and participation is required. The 2026 summer Camp program session will be held 06/22/2026 – 07/27/2026. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU Two years’ experience working with children in a camp environment preferred, OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
