Description Camp Counselor Summer 2022 Beacon Hill Club is looking for energetic and caring individuals to work at our day camp this summer! Our camp features a variety of activities, including sports, crafts, and music, and runs daily from 9 am to 2:30 pm for seven weeks, Monday through Thursday, beginning mid-June. Counselors work with campers between the ages of 4 to 10 years old and are responsible for creating a positive experience by acting as a good role model, keeping campers engaged, maintaining a safe environment, and also having fun! The ideal candidate will bring energy, enthusiasm, and creativity, and will help create a memorable camp experience for all campers. Counselors must be available to work the full camp season and complete the required training with the Camp Director before the start of camp. Duties include, but are not limited to: Lead designated daily camp activities as assigned by the Camp Director Supervise and engage with campers in a fun, positive, and professional manner Assist specialists during activity periods by helping to keep campers engaged Maintain a safe environment and ensure camp safety rules are followed at all times Maintain constant group face counts Help the Director with the setup and breakdown of camp every day Report all immediate concerns to the Camp Director or the Assistant Camp Director Work cooperatively with all camp and club staff Requirements: Must be a minimum of 16 years of age At least one year of experience working with children; group setting preferred Must be available to work the full camp season and complete all required trainings Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with campers, parents and staff One year of experience leading and/ or supervising group camp activities, preferred Positive attitude, strong leadership, and time management skills CPR/AED/ Basic First Aid Certification, preferred Benefits: Employee Meals Uniform provided
Responsibilities
Counselors are responsible for leading assigned daily camp activities, supervising and engaging with campers aged 4 to 10 in a positive manner, and ensuring all safety rules are followed. They must also assist specialists, maintain group counts, and help with the daily setup and breakdown of camp operations.
