Living in the cabin and engaging fully in camp life, Counselors lead with energy, purpose, and positivity as they care for and mentor campers throughout their adventure-filled week. This role blends hands-on leadership, relational ministry, and playful fun—creating an environment where campers feel safe, supported, and encouraged to explore faith, build friendships, and make lifelong memories. This role offers a unique opportunity to grow in leadership, deepen faith, and make a lasting impact—all while being part of a vibrant, mission-driven community. Key Responsibilities Camper Leadership & Supervision Serve as a trusted mentor and positive role model by providing faith-centered guidance and consistent supervision to campers. Plan, lead, and support daily activities for an assigned camper group, adapting to the dynamic rhythm of camp life while prioritizing safety and well-being. Cabin & Daily Life Management Live with and provide consistent care for assigned cabin groups needs in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner, helping each camper adjust to camp life and feel supported throughout their stay. Uphold and enforce camp rules, safety guidelines, and health standards within the cabin and across all camp activities. Camp Community & Ministry Engagement Integrate faith into daily camp life, supporting the spiritual growth and development of campers within a Christian community. Support essential ministry responsibilities, including sharing approved devotional content, engaging in prayer with campers, and participating in worship experiences. (Learn more about our core values at www.hoblitzellesummercamp.com.) WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU Must be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate or GED preferred. A heart for others and a mind towards Christ. Should be self-motivated and teachable. Six months’ experience teaching child development or youth programs in a church preferred, OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. A willingness to abide by The Salvation Army doctrinal statement and Camp Hoblitzelle’s policies. CPR & First Aid certified or capable of passing by June 15, 2026 (training provided by Camp Hoblitzelle during staff training if needed.) Must be able to pass a state and federal background check. Additional Information: Camp Staff Training will be held June 8 – June 14, 2026, and participation is required. The 2026 summer Camp program sessions will be held June 15 - July 26, 2026.
