Description Employment Type: Seasonal (Summer) / Part-Time Position Summary: The Highland Park Country Club is seeking enthusiastic, responsible, and energetic Camp Counselors to join our summer camp team. Counselors play a key role in creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment for children Pre_K through 5th Grade. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with kids, thrive in an active outdoor setting, and are committed to delivering a high-quality camp experience. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and actively engage with a group of campers throughout daily activities Lead and assist with sports, swimming, arts & crafts, games, and special events Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers at all times Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful camp environment Communicate effectively with fellow staff, camp leadership, and parents when needed Assist with setup, cleanup, and organization of camp activities and equipment Follow all club policies, safety procedures, and emergency protocols Schedule: Seasonal position June Session: June 9–12 August Session: August 11–14 Benefits: Competitive hourly pay Fun, team-oriented work environment Opportunities to build leadership and childcare experience Meals or club amenities may be included Requirements Qualifications: Must be at least 16 Previous experience working with children preferred (camp, coaching, babysitting, etc.) Strong communication and teamwork skills Positive attitude, reliability, and leadership abilities Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions CPR/First Aid certification a plus Physical Demands and Work Environment Requires constant standing, walking, bending over, stooping and lifting to tend to the children’s needs and provide a clean environment. Setting may be noisy and cluttered at times.
Responsibilities
Counselors are responsible for supervising and actively engaging with campers during daily activities such as sports, swimming, and arts and crafts. They must ensure the safety and well-being of all children while maintaining a positive and inclusive camp environment.
