Are you passionate about hospitality? Do you love camping and the outdoors? We are now accepting applications for Camp Hosts at our luxury campground in Ithaca, NY from Now through November. A cross between a front desk agent and a mountain guide, you will be checking-in guests, recommending itineraries of things to do, lighting real fires, putting out metaphorical fires, and basically running camp.

Knowledge, abilities, skill sets, and requirements

• Bright and friendly demeanor with a love for interacting with other people.
• Prior food and beverage and customer service and/or hotel experience preferred.
• Basic computer literacy, ability to run a point of sale system, and make online bookings.
• Must have own transportation to arrive at Firelight Camps at 1150 Danby Rd, Ithaca, N

Our Camp Hosts are responsible for taking ownership of our campgrounds and running day-to-day operations. Imagine all the nuances involved in providing a luxury hotel experience. This is an amazing learning opportunity and we love to encourage our staff to bring their own unique talents to put on display for our guests.

Elements of daily operations include but are not limited to:

• Greeting guests as they arrive.
• Handle the check-in and check-out process.
• Monitor and respond to online booking requests and manage booking calendar.
• Take reservations and questions by phone.
• Serve alcoholic drinks, sodas, and sell retail items such as s’mores and t-shirts.
• Prepare and/or heat up snacks as part of our camp food program.
• Ensure the tidiness of the lobby & event tents and firepit areas.
• Interact with guests and make recommendations for things to do in and around Ithaca.
• Assist with lounge/lobby tent programming such as morning breakfast, evening bar, and cocktail service, including service around the outdoor lounge and fire pit.
• Assist with group bookings and special events such as yoga retreats and weddings.
• Collaborate with the housekeeping staff and communicate daily housekeeping needs.
• Be a brand ambassador for Firelight Camps.
• Assist the company with other tasks as needed.
