Salary: Depends on skills and experience. The salary range for this role is $42,943.18- $50,521.13 per year.

QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB-SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:

· Work Experience: 2+ years related experience in one of the following areas: camp maintenance, facility maintenance, general construction, custodial, landscaping
· Education: High school diploma.
· Certifications: Drinking Water Systems, Pool Operations (if applicable for the camp), Chainsaw Operator, or willingness to obtain these certifications.
· Health and Safety: Knows all health and safety legislation related to the operation of outdoor and residential settings, and is able to keep up to date with any changes and implement necessary operational updates as a result.
· Risk Management: Ability to identify, mitigate or escalate risks across a portfolio of outdoor education/residential settings.
· Maintenance: Broad general knowledge of building and equipment maintenance
· Technical Proficiency: Strong computer and technical skills and a growth-mindset when approaching new technology, including proficiency with Microsoft 365 / Office applications
· Travel: Must hold a valid Canadian driver’s license or have equivalent ability to travel

The Camp Maintenance Officer at Scouts Canada is responsible for ensuring the safe, clean, and efficient operation of camp facilities, equipment, and grounds. This includes maintaining all infrastructure to meet health and safety standards, supporting construction and maintenance projects, and ensuring compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements. The role also involves responding to security concerns, representing Scouts Canada to ex[i]ternal stakeholders with professionalism, and fostering strong partnerships with volunteers. A commitment to health and safety legislation, high-quality customer service, and collaborative teamwork is essential to success in this position.
