Job Details Job Location: ALM-Camp Hidden Lake - Lexington, MS 39095 Job Category: Camp CAMP MUSIC INSTRUCTOR - BRASS Location: Camp Hidden Lake, Lexington, Mississippi Position Type: Temporary Full-Time Pay Rate: $450.00 per week This position is responsible for: Plans, coordinates, and directs the functions of the Conservatory Music program; ensures the quality of programs and the safety of youth at all times; provides guidance and role modeling to youth; and ensures a safe, positive experience for campers. Key Responsibilities: Provides quality music instruction to campers. Teaches music theory as it applies to the appropriate level for playing purposes. Provides appropriate lessons for instruction time. Reviews assigned homework with students and re-teaches skills if necessary. Be responsible for the care of instruments during class, with necessary repairs immediately reported to the Divisional Music Director. Prepares students for recitals and concerts. Plans, schedules, assigns, and monitors the students' work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy and completeness. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to read and hear music notes. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Some physical requirements of the Camp Music Instructor position could be endurance, including climbing, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity are required to manipulate music equipment and engage in activities. Requires a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Have a willingness to live in a camp setting and to work irregular hours, delivering a program at the facility available. Operate with daily exposure to the sun, heat, and varying environmental conditions. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU Six months of experience teaching music education and teaching experience, with the ability to play and teach lessons in a classroom setting involving more than one student preferred, or Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
