Job Details Job Location: TX-Camp Hoblitzelle - Midlothian, TX 76065 Education Level: High School Diploma/GED Job Category: Health & Fitness About This Opportunity This is a unique opportunity to advance clinical experience and develop healthcare skills within a Christ-centered summer camp setting. As a Camp Nurse Assistant, you’ll be an integral member of the camp health team, supporting the Camp Nurse in providing safe, timely, and compassionate care to campers and staff. This role assists with day-to-day clinic operations, including reviewing health information, supporting medication administration in accordance with physician prescriptions, and helping ensure compliance with state health regulations and camp policies. While grounded in clinical responsibilities, the Nurse Assistant also contributes to the overall camp culture—helping to create an environment where campers feel cared for, supported, and able to fully engage in the camp experience. Key Responsibilities Assist the Camp Nurse in providing safe, compassionate care to campers and staff, following ACA standards, state regulations, and camp policies. Support daily clinic operations, keeping the nurses’ station and first aid supplies clean, organized, and fully stocked. Assist with registration, including camper check-in, health screenings, and completion of medical documentation. Review camper and staff Health History Forms and communicate any concerns to the Camp Nurse and Camp Director. Support the administration of medications and treatments under the guidance of the Camp Nurse. Assist with exams, procedures, and the supervision of campers or staff in the Health Center. Maintain accurate health records and logs for all visits and treatments. Model and reinforce health and safety practices throughout camp, assisting other areas as needed. Assist with transportation for off-site medical care when required. Support and participate enthusiastically as a team member in overall camp programming, special events, and evening activities as part of a collaborative staff team. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU Must be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate or GED preferred. A heart for others and a mind towards Christ. Should be self-motivated and teachable. Two years’ experience in medical and/or health, preferably in a camp or related environment preferred OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Medication Technician Certification First Aid/CPR certification and a valid Driver’s License (with a clean driving record) A willingness to abide by The Salvation Army doctrinal statement and Camp Hoblitzelle’s policies. CPR & First Aid certified or capable of passing by June 15, 2026 (training provided by Camp Hoblitzelle during staff training if needed.) Must be able to pass a state and federal background check. Additional Information: Camp Staff Training will be held June 3 – June 14, 2026, and participation is required. The 2026 summer Camp program sessions will be held June 15 - July 26, 2026.
