Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Camp Nurse (RN/LPN) provides health, safety and general medical services to personnel and guests in accordance with Frost Valley, YMCA policies and procedures, and Standards of Procedures as set forth by the New York State Office of Professions, New York State Department of Health and American Campers Association. Administer medications, provide basic first aid, conduct medical trainings, maintain records and respond to emergencies in a professional manner. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Practice within standards set forth by the New York State Office of Professions, New York State Department of Health and the American Campers Association. Administer medications in a timely and safe manner, demonstrating knowledge of pharmacology Provide accurate documentation per Frost Valley YMCA policies and procedures, answer telephones, ensure documentation is filed properly, and maintain confidentiality of medical records Ensure the Wellness Center and other medical venues are maintained in a clean and orderly fashion Ensure accurate transition of care and follow up as needed to Emergency Medical Services, hospitals, physicians and partnerships Work in collaboration with other medical disciplines, Wellness Center staff and other departments to ensure safety, well-being and positive health outcomes for guests and staff Communicate special health needs to appropriate staff Assist with keeping track of inventory and order supplies as needed. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate basic and emergency healthcare to guests and staff in compliance with physician orders and Frost Valley policies and procedures Provide competent, age specific and culturally sensitive care while maintain standards of professional practice Interpret and enforce all camp policies, rules, and regulations Maintain security of medications and health records Follow COVID-19 policy and protocols Facilitate staff a guest awareness of unsafe or at risk behaviors and conditions Assist and or conduct medical related training (First Aid, CPR, etc.) Assist with training health center staff as they join the team (seasonal staff and per diems) Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing Services. RATE OF PAY: LPN $32 per hour; RN $42 per hour Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a current New York State RN or LPN license A clean driving record is preferred Ability to carry 50 lbs Must be organized Proficient in Gmail, and understanding databases WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Able to stand for long periods of time Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times
