Description
Description Willow Creek Community Church is an egalitarian non-denominational, multi-site church in and across Chicagoland passionate about helping people take next steps to love God, love people, and change the world. Do you love turning big ideas into real, tangible spaces people actually use? Are you the kind of project manager who cares just as much about relationships as timelines and budgets? If so, this might be a great next step for you. We’re looking for a Campus Development Project Manager to help bring ministry spaces to life across our campuses—overseeing construction, remodeling, and grounds projects that make it easier for people to gather, connect, and grow. This role sits at the intersection of project management, relationship building, and problem-solving. You’ll work closely with church leaders, contractors, vendors, and volunteers to make sure projects are completed on time, on budget, and done well. What You’ll Be Responsible For Projects that get done right - You’ll help define scope, build schedules, manage budgets, obtain bids, and oversee contractors and volunteer teams across multiple campuses. Safety, quality, and follow-through matter here. Clear, consistent communication - Stakeholders stay informed, feel heard, and trust the process because you keep people in the loop and handle changes with clarity and care. Strong vendor and contractor relationships - You’ll build long-term partnerships, negotiate preferred pricing where possible, and become a trusted point of contact. Volunteer teams that thrive - You’ll help recruit, organize, and lead volunteer teams to support projects and offset labor costs—developing people while getting great work done. Compensation & Benefits The salary range is $68,000 - $93,000 (dependent upon experience and skill set) and we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes: Medical, dental, and vision insurance Retirement planning with company match Parental paid leave Tuition assistance Generous paid time off If you’re energized by building spaces that serve people—and you’re ready to bring skill, heart, and leadership to meaningful projects—we’d love to hear from you. Requirements What We’re Looking For You’re likely a great fit if you bring: Solid experience in construction or commercial project management (degree and/or equivalent experience) The ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities without losing momentum Strong organizational, execution, and communication skills A relational, emotionally healthy leadership style—especially under pressure A collaborative mindset and a genuine alignment with our mission and values Alignment with the mission, theology, and worship philosophy of the church. Work Environment & Expectations This is a full-time, exempt role with a typical Monday–Friday schedule, plus occasional Sundays, holidays, or special events as projects require. Some physical activity is part of the job—walking job sites, lifting materials, and being present where the work happens.
Responsibilities
The Project Manager will oversee construction, remodeling, and grounds projects across multiple church campuses, managing scope definition, schedules, budgets, bids, and contractor/volunteer teams to ensure quality completion. Key duties also involve maintaining clear communication with stakeholders and building strong, long-term relationships with vendors and contractors.
