ABOUT THE ROLE:

Are you passionate about building inclusive communities and creating meaningful change? We’re looking for a proactive and people-focused individual to join the University of Bath’s Campus Services team as our Community Projects Officer.
As one of the university’s largest departments, Campus Services supports over 5,300 resident students and 400+ staff, while also welcoming a broad range of visitors. This role is pivotal in delivering initiatives that create a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive environment for all.
You’ll lead on the development and delivery of our departmental EDI Action Plan, working closely with teams across Campus Services to embed inclusive practices into every area, from residential life and catering to events, communications, and frontline services.
You’ll also coordinate community engagement initiatives, plan inclusive events, produce accessible content, and advise on best practice, ensuring our services reflect and respect the diversity of our student and staff communities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take ownership of the Campus Services EDI Action Plan, driving progress through data-informed insights, stakeholder collaboration, and regular evaluation.
  • Coordinate inclusive community initiatives and events that celebrate diversity and foster a sense of belonging.
  • Develop written and digital content to support departmental goals, including student guides, staff communications, and community updates.
  • Conduct focus groups and engagement activities with students and staff to identify needs and influence change.
  • Work with internal and external networks to bring best practice and innovation into the department.
