Site Health & Safety Coordinator About the Role We are seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator to support safe, compliant, and productive site operations. This role is ideal for someone with 2–3 years of hands-on experience who enjoys working in the field, coaching teams, and supporting continuous improvement in health and safety performance. Key Responsibilities Conduct regular site inspections, hazard identification, and safety observations. Lead or support toolbox talks, safety meetings, and worker orientations. Coach workers and supervisors on safe work practices and hazard controls. Assist with incident, near-miss, and hazard reporting and investigations. Maintain site safety documentation, records, and reports. Support contractor safety management and onboarding. Assist with implementation of site-specific safety plans and programs. Ensure compliance with applicable occupational health and safety legislation. Qualifications 2–3 years of site-based health and safety experience. Post-secondary certificate or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related field. Working knowledge of provincial occupational health and safety legislation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently in a dynamic site environment. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to sites as required. Assets CRST or CRSP designation (completed or in progress). First Aid, WHMIS, CSTS, Fall Protection, or similar safety certifications. Experience supporting audits or COR/SECOR programs. Core Competencies Strong field presence and approachability. Attention to detail and proactive risk awareness. Ability to influence positive safety behaviours. Organized with strong follow-up skills. Willingness to learn and grow within the profession. Working Conditions Primarily site-based work in variable weather and environmental conditions. Regular walking, standing, and use of personal protective equipment. Occasional lifting up to 25–35 lbs.
Responsibilities
The coordinator will conduct regular site inspections, lead safety meetings, and coach workers and supervisors on safe work practices and hazard controls. Key duties also involve assisting with incident investigations and maintaining site safety documentation and records.
