Description
Payroll Operations Process end-to-end semi-monthly and monthly payrolls for Canadian employees in compliance with employment standards and company policies. Validate earnings, deductions, taxable benefits, and final payouts. Review payroll inputs from HRIS, Time & Attendance systems, and manual adjustments. Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate outputs to ensure accuracy. Participate in system UAT (User Acceptance Testing) during upgrades and new feature rollouts. Prepare regular and ad hoc payroll reports (e.g., payroll summaries, costing reports, tax reports, reconciliation files). Support internal stakeholders (Finance, HR, Tax) with payroll data for audits, planning, and forecasting. Ensure payroll processing aligns with federal and provincial laws (CRA, CNESST, WSIB, etc.). Maintain audit trails and support year-end activities, including T4 and RL-1 slip generation. Stay current with legislative updates and apply changes accordingly. Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. 3-5 years of Canadian payroll experience, with proven expertise in full-cycle payroll processing. Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and statutory requirements. Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (Workday, ADP, SAP, Ceridian, or equivalent). Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, reconciliations). Analytical mindset and attention to detail. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
