Tutoring Tree Canberra is a fast-growing tutoring business dedicated to providing personalized, one-on-one academic support to students in the ACT. Founded by recent graduates passionate about education, we specialise in Mathematics, English, and Sciences for students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Our mission is to empower students by building their confidence and improving their academic performance through tailored teaching.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

• Strong academic performance in the subject(s) you wish to tutor (ATAR 90+ and university study in relevant areas preferred).
• Ability to tutor Year 11 and 12 Human Biology and Chemistry
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
• A passion for teaching and helping students succeed.
• Reliable, organised, and punctual.
• Availability to work afternoons and evenings during the school term, and flexibility to work during school holidays.

REQUIREMENTS

• Current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) card (or willingness to obtain one).
• ABN (Australian Business Number) or willingness to register as an independent contractor.
• Preferably holds a valid Australian drivers license and has access to a car.
• Previous tutoring experienced highly valued.
• A laptop/computer and a stable internet connection for both in-person and online tutoring.
• Able to start immediately

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable tutors to join our team and help students achieve their academic goals. As a tutor, you will deliver personalised sessions tailored to each student’s unique learning needs and provide support across key subjects

You will:

• Conduct tutoring sessions at students’ homes (travel within the ACT required) or online.
• Adapt teaching methods to cater to individual learning styles and needs.
• Assist students in understanding concepts, completing assignments, and preparing for exams.
• Provide regular feedback to students and their parents/guardians on progress.
• Be a positive role model and encourage a growth mindset in your students.
