POSITION OVERVIEW

We are hiring an experienced Accounting Manager to support our partner’s cannabis and non-cannabis operations in Lansing, MI. This is a high-impact role working alongside the Controller to lead a small but growing accounting team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on cannabis accounting experience and be eager to step into a leadership role as the organization expands.
You’ll manage daily accounting operations, ensure compliance, support strategic decision-making, and contribute to financial reporting across multiple businesses under shared ownership.

KEY DUTIES:

• Lead AP/AR processes and supervise daily transaction workflows
• Own the month-end close: journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
• Maintain accurate financial records and bank reconciliations
• Oversee billing, vault reconciliations, and sales tracking
• Handle sales, use, and excise tax filings; manage property tax accruals
• Reconcile intercompany transactions and manage fixed assets & depreciation
• Maintain compliance with GAAP, internal SOPs, and cannabis regulations
• Improve and manage accounting systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, Leaflink, Dutchie)
• Prepare financial reports to support business decisions
• Train, coach, and supervise 2 accounting team members
