PERSON SPECIFICATION

It is a great time to join the team in this role to help develop our technical capabilities by developing and testing cutting-edge tools and developing new techniques. You will have a background working with different analytic tools, and an interest in developing new solutions to counter online harms. We are looking for someone who is:

THE ROLE

As the capability development officer, you will play a key role in pioneering innovative technical solutions to help us identify acute and chronic risks across the online information environment. SOH is a dynamic and inclusive place to work at the forefront of the most interesting, high-profile and challenging online safety topics of our time. We are looking for a critical and creative thinker who are eager to showcase their talents, adapt to challenges and learn new skills; there is no one-size-fits-all candidate profile and training and upskilling will be offered as part of this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS ROLE WOULD INCLUDE:

  • Support the Product Manager to continually review, test and develop our analytic tools.
  • Conduct user and wider market research to identify new technologies and clearly communicate your findings with line managers and stakeholders.
  • Manage and keep up to date our user needs across our analysis and policy business areas; identifying problems and recommending solutions.
  • Support on the delivery of our data analysis tools and capabilities, identifying ways to improve our operational processes.
  • Support the team’s research and development initiatives, taking ownership of a research area.
  • Support and champion best practice in data protection and procurement practices.
