What you’ll do:

As a Capital Modelling Analyst at Aspen Insurance, your primary responsibility will be to support the team in all aspects related to the Aspen Economic Capital Model (ECM). You will be involved in producing ECM deliverables for various regulatory entities, assisting in business planning processes, ensuring compliance with operational control processes, and improving existing controls. Your role will also involve effective communication with key stakeholders across the group. Furthermore, you will collaborate with other teams to ensure data quality and assist in maintaining and updating the ECM. Your contribution will be crucial in producing analysis and commentary for risk reporting.

  • Support the production of ECM deliverables to various regulatory entities
  • Assist in entity-level business planning and reforecasting processes
  • Ensure compliance with the ECM’s operational control processes
  • Proactively improve existing controls and processes
  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders across the Aspen group
  • Work closely with other teams to ensure adequate data quality
  • Assist in the development, maintenance and regular update of the ECM
  • Support the production of analysis and commentary for risk reporting

You have a solid understanding of basic insurance concepts and are well-versed in capital modelling techniques and analysis. Proficiency in standard software tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint is essential for this role. Additionally, your analytical approach allows you to deal proficiently with quantitative concepts. Experience in programming languages such as VBA or SQL would be highly desirable. Lastly, being part-qualified or a student actuary would be advantageous.
