Location: The Capital Project Engineer is an onsite role located in Martin, SC with 10% domestic and international travel required to meet business needs. Martin, South Carolina is in Allendale County bordering the beautiful Savannah River. A community rich in history with over 50 historical sites to visit. Stunning farms cover the landscape in this agricultural community. Your Role: EMD Electronics is a leader in the Silica business, dedicated to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional quality. EMD is currently seeking an experienced Capital Project Engineer to join our team at the Martin, SC plant. This critical role will focus on planning, coordinating, and executing engineering projects, ensuring they meet technical specifications, budgets, and established quality standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure the successful delivery of projects while prioritizing high-quality standards and driving innovation through advanced technologies. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with teams and coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to ensure designs meet technical specifications and facilitate smooth project execution. Manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively for all project components while monitoring progress and providing regular reports to identify and address potential issues. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures throughout each project phase, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards through quality inspections. Offer technical support and guidance to maintenance and engineering teams, staying informed about the latest engineering technologies and industry best practices. Participate in the development of CAPEX requirements for annual budgeting and long-term planning (5-year outlook). Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence by identifying and implementing process enhancements within the engineering and manufacturing environments. Oversee construction activities, ensuring that capital projects are delivered safely, meeting quality and performance objectives while adhering to cost and schedule commitments. Direct interface with construction general contractors during the bidding, award, execution, and project closeout phases. Support project management with construction document management including submittal review, change orders, and invoicing. Who You Are: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of experience in capital project management, project management, engineering or maintenance project management. Or In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of experience in Capital Project Management, Project Management, Engineering or Maintenance Project Management. Working knowledge of capital project engineering, construction, construction contract administration, and commissioning in a semiconductor, chemical or large-scale industrial manufacturing industry setting Preferred Qualifications: Strong knowledge of engineering principles, systems, and components, along with construction management practices. Experience in project management skills, including budgeting and cost management. Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously while demonstrating exceptional problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Understanding of industry-specific codes and regulations. Pay Range for this position: $116,600 - $174,800​ The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
