ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced Capital Projects Manager to lead the delivery of key projects within Hackney Council’s Corporate Capital Programme. From concept to completion, you’ll manage diverse and exciting projects that make a real impact on services and communities across the borough.
This is a high-profile role that involves working with internal teams, external consultants, and public stakeholders to deliver capital projects on time, on budget, and to high standards.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Lead and manage a wide range of capital projects from start to finish.
• Oversee project delivery to ensure time, cost, and quality targets are met.
• Work with council services to align projects with strategic goals.
• Manage multi-disciplinary teams and consultants to achieve results.
• Develop business cases, procure services, and lead contract negotiations.
• Monitor project risks, finances, and compliance with governance procedures.
• Ensure projects contribute to sustainability and carbon reduction goals.
• Collaborate with partners such as the GLA to access external funding.
• Keep property data systems up to date after project completion.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the Capital Programme Manager in managing budgets and resources effectively.
• Ensure health and safety standards are upheld across all projects.
