  • High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within six (6) months from start date as a condition of continued employment
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
  • Two (2) years previous experience as a server- preferred
  • Must be able to perform basic math skills
  • Ability to read and write English; Demonstrated ability to communicate, in English, effectively both verbally and in writing, and understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats
  • Must successfully pass job interview, including a guest service audition
  • Must be able to respond to visual and audible cues
  • Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team; Must be able to deal effectively with diverse departments and have flexibility to work in an ever-changing environment
  • Must possess a high level of maturity, dependability, and punctuality
  • Must successfully complete Responsible Vendor Alcoholic Beverage Service, and BASSET training
  • Must successfully complete ServeSafe Sanitation training
  • Willing to work odd and irregular hours
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
  • Must have an Occupational License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) pursuant to the Illinois Gaming Act and remain in good standing with the Illinois Gaming Board as a requirement for this positio

Responsibilities

PURPOSE:

Our genuine engagement and positive energy provide guests an escape from their routine into our exciting fantasy world of fun, chance, and possibility, where everyone feels a sense of belonging and importance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Possess knowledge of fine dining cuisines including French and Continental as well as table-side service
  • Possess knowledge of wine and wine pairings
  • Reports to work station as scheduled in proper uniform and ready to work
  • Completes all side-work as directed by supervisor
  • Keeps work area neat, clean and free of safety hazards
  • Coordinates all orders in advance in order to avoid making any partial deliveries
  • Consolidates all deliveries to ensure that hot food is maintained and delivered hot, and that all cold items are delivered cold
  • Serves drinks efficiently in the proper glass with the proper garnish
  • Greets Guests appropriately at their room and execute room sets as needed based upon items ordered
  • Verifies orders with guests
  • Checks back with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meal and determines if they have any other needs
  • Presents check for tender and thanks guests for their order
  • Ensures trays and carts are removed from the hotel hallways and elevator bays
  • Reads and retains all pertinent information regarding daily promotions, food and beverage specials, property promotions, station assignments and scheduled entertainment from disseminated pre-shift information
  • Assumes special projects as needed at the direction of the immediate supervisor
  • Other duties & responsibilities as assigned

Base Pay:

  • Pay range - $15.00 - $20.00 (The base pay will depend factors such as experience level and skillset.)
