Role Purpose:
The Automobile Transport Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the transportation, maintenance, and repair of vehicles, including managing mechanics, electricians, and diagnostic technicians. This role ensures the smooth and safe transportation of vehicles while supervising maintenance and repair activities to ensure all vehicles are in optimal condition before and after transport. The supervisor will focus on all types of vehicles, particularly German, American, and European cars.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools (scanner).
  • Ability to diagnose minor and major issues across all vehicle types (engine, transmission, suspension, etc.).
  • Must have experience working with German, American, and European vehicles.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in the UAE.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and technical information.
  • General mechanical skills and troubleshooting expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

Vehicle Transport Management:

  • Supervise and coordinate safe loading, unloading, and transportation of vehicles to ensure minimal damage and timely delivery.
  • Ensure proper inspection and documentation of vehicles before, during, and after transport, noting any existing damage and assessing vehicle condition.
  • Oversee vehicle scheduling, route planning, and coordination to optimize transport efficiency.
  • Manage and supervise car carriers, transport trucks, and other vehicle transportation equipment, ensuring all vehicles are safely secured during transit.

Mechanics and Electrical Supervision:

  • Lead a team of mechanics responsible for vehicle repairs, servicing, and preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure mechanical systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and exhaust systems, are fully operational before transportation.
  • Oversee electrical systems inspections and repairs, including battery maintenance, alternators, wiring, and diagnostic checks.
  • Ensure all vehicle systems meet safety standards before dispatch.

Diagnostic Oversight:

  • Supervise the team responsible for vehicle computer diagnostics, ensuring accurate identification and troubleshooting of engine control systems, transmission systems, ABS, airbags, and other vehicle systems.
  • Utilize specialized diagnostic tools to assess electrical component issues and sensor malfunctions.
  • Oversee the installation or upgrading of electronic systems, ensuring all components function correctly.
  • Maintain accurate and timely diagnostic reports for all vehicles, detailing any repairs made.

Maintenance and Repair Management:

  • Ensure timely routine vehicle maintenance, such as oil changes, fluid checks, brake inspections, tire rotations, etc., is carried out efficiently across all vehicles.
  • Supervise major repairs, including engine overhauls, transmission rebuilds, and suspension repairs.
  • Oversee part replacements (spark plugs, batteries, filters, belts, etc.) and manage inventory control of repair parts and tools.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Enforce strict safety protocols during transport, repair, and maintenance activities to minimize accidents and damage.
  • Ensure vehicles comply with local regulations and safety standards for roadworthiness before departure.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental standards for vehicle waste, fluid disposal, and parts recycling.

Team Leadership & Training:

  • Lead and manage a team of mechanics, electricians, and diagnostic technicians, providing direction, support, and guidance as required.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss goals, safety procedures, and operational challenges.
  • Provide training on the latest automotive technologies, diagnostic equipment, and repair techniques to ensure the team is up-to-date with industry advancements.

Customer Communication & Documentation:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring effective communication regarding transportation, maintenance, or repair needs.
  • Provide transparent cost estimates for services and repairs, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain detailed records of services performed, maintenance logs, transport schedules, and inspections.

Inventory and Equipment Management:

  • Oversee inventory control for automotive tools, parts, and diagnostic equipment, ensuring timely maintenance and replacement of items.
  • Ensure all vehicles are equipped with necessary tools for minor repairs during transportation (if applicable).

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in automotive repair, vehicle transportation, or logistics.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience in automotive or vehicle transport environments.
  • Strong experience working with mechanical, electrical, and computer diagnostic systems in vehicles.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a certification in automotive technology or related fields is preferred.
  • Certifications:
  • ASE Certification or similar automotive repair certifications are preferred.
  • Any additional certifications related to vehicle diagnostics, electrical systems, or transport logistics would be advantageous.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle systems, including mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic components.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and automotive repair equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage transport schedules, repair tasks, and inventory control.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure effective repairs and vehicle inspections.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, team members, and management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and work in tight spaces.
  • Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments.

  • Salary: AED 2000 - AED 5000 + Commission
