JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

The Manager of Cardiovascular Services provides leadership and management to all personnel within an assigned units. The Manager of Cardiovascular Services participates in all clinical functions and operations of the assigned area or units to include quality management, personnel management, fiscal management, management and improvement of processes. Theses duties include, but are not limited to: Manages and directs the operations and delivery of patient care within budgetary, staffing and regulatory guidelines, using evidence based practice. Identifies clinical operational needs; manages appropriate level of equipment and supplies and monitors equipment maintenance. Assesses the environment and make recommendations to ensure optimal patient comfort, safety and compliance with various regulatory bodies and clinical policies and procedures. Collaborates in the development, implementation and expansion of learning opportunities and skill development for all staff. Analyzes, develops and maintains an effective and efficient multidisciplinary care delivery system that reflects patient and family needs across the continuum to achieve desired outcomes. Promotes education for patients, patient families and the community; participates in direct patient care activities as a targeted strategy for role modeling or information gathering. Participates in planning, preparing, and prioritizing of budgets for assigned areas of responsibility. Monitors compliance, investigates variances and provides plans for remediation.

  • You will direct and participate in the human resource management function for the department by participating in the selection, promotion, orientation and performance appraisal processes.
  • You will participate in disciplinary action and ongoing assessment of all staff within the Cardiology Dept.
  • You will ensure availability of adequately trained/licensed staff to maintain departmental operations.
  • You will maintain flow of communication between all staff through monthly staff meetings, memos, bulletin boards, emails, and formal and/or informal discussions.
  • You will provide educational opportunities in accordance with mandatory requirements and departmental needs.
  • You will initiate, interpret, maintain and enforce Cardiovascular Services policies and hospital policies and procedures.
  • You will plan and approve unit schedules according to approved staffing guidelines
  • You will oversee employee Engagement
  • You will work with Hospital administration, Cardiovascular Services Director & Staff Physicians on planning, organizing and directing Cardiovascular Services operations and ensuring compliance with all local, state and federal regulations.
  • You will make daily rounds in Cardiovascular Services departments to judge effectiveness of operations, utilization of personnel and supplies, and general ethical and professional atmosphere.
  • You will flex staffing to appropriate levels for expected volume of scheduled and unscheduled patients/procedures. Floats staff between departments to optimize throughput.
  • You will establish and maintain standards of performance. Direct and assist with workflow as needed during times of high volume.
  • You will communicate with Cardiologists and other physicians to coordinate and facilitate department schedules, and timely/optimal patient care.
  • You will interact professionally with patient/family. Consult other departments, as appropriate, to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities.
  • You will serve as a liaison between the Cardiovascular Departments and customers, both internal and external. Provide rapid follow up to identify problems/issues/Incident Reports, including feedback to concerned customers.
  • You will ensure compliance with established regulatory guidelines, including but not limited to JCAHO, TDH, and OSHA.
  • You are responsible for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of performance improvement and CQI activities.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU WILL NEED:

  • 3 - 7 years: Cardiovascular field
  • 2-3 years progressive leadership experience
  • Associate’s Degree-Major: Nursing, Radiological Technology or Cardiovascular Technology
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare field preferred
  • Nursing Diploma; Graduate of CVT program; or graduate of an educational program in radiology accredited by the JRCERT or graduate of an American Medical Association approved program in Radiologic Technology or a military training program of equivalent standards
  • If Registered Nurse: Required within 60 days - If working under compact license, must have current state licensure within 60 days.
  • If Radiologic Technician: Certified Texas Department of Health Medical Radiologic Technologist; Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic technologists required upon hire
  • RCIS: RCIS Certification from applicable accrediting body - Required Upon Hire
  • BLS required within 30 days
  • ACLS required within 90days
