Cardiac Sonographer / Cardiovascular Department / Part Time Performs daily clinical operations of Echocardiography including performing Echocardiograms, entering preliminary interpretation, covering both inpatients and outpatients. May include rotating shifts and/or call coverage. Supporting the delivery of the highest quality of patient care, the primary focus will be performing Echocardiograms; using ultra sound to visualize internal cardiac structures, obtain measurements of cardiac valves, ventricles, left atrium and visualize blood flow. This will entail examinations using stationary and/or mobile equipment, while ensuring the highest standards of safety for patients. Works under the supervision of the VP of Patient Services, Director of Diagnostics, House Supervisor or designee. Job Duties: Demonstrates proficiency by performing routine and emergency echocardiograms, including but not limited to 2-dimensional, 3- dimensional, Doppler, Trans-esophageal, and Stress Echocardiogram, as requested by physician and in accordance with standard practices. Provides echocardiography services working variable shifts, weekends, and providing emergent call coverage as scheduled. Properly stores and operates equipment necessary to perform all required procedures and to obtain optimal diagnostic recordings. Maintains equipment in working order, making minor adjustments and repairs. Performs routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and reports any equipment malfunction to Director. Restocks work area as appropriate, keeps work environment neat and clean. Follows hospital policies on patient identification, safety, hand hygiene, infection control practices, emergency preparedness, and compliance with annual competencies. Minimum Requirements: Minimum Education: High School diploma, Graduate of a cardiovascular sonography program Minimum License/Certifications: Ultrasound registration as an RDMS or RCS required (or within 1 year of hire), RDCS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (issued by ARDMS), RCS - Echo Registered Cardiac Sonographer (issued by CCI) Current BLS certification (required), Hours: 24 hours per week Benefit Summary: Join our team, and you’ll have access to a cutting-edge facility with state-of-the-art technology.
