Organization: SMF-Sutter Med Foundation- Central Position Overview: Oversees, organizes and coordinates the overall operation of Cardiac Imaging, including staffing and work assignments. Directs, implements and updates policies, procedures and protocols to streamline workflow, improve efficiency, and strengthen quality assurance. Ensures the timely delivery of assessments and oversees the efficient maintenance and operation of all equipment. Serves as the liaison between Cardiac Sonography and physicians, patients, family and other hospital staff. Routinely performs all duties of a cardiac sonographer, as needed. Ensures treatment is provided in a manner consistent with best practices, accreditation standards and State and Federal regulations. Job Description: EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE: RDCS-Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer issued by ARDMS OR RCS-Registered Cardiac Sonographer issued by Cardiovascular Credentialing International AEC-Adult Echocardiography Certification OR FEC-Fetal Echocardiography Certification OR PEC-Pediatric Echocardiography Certification BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 8 years recent relevant experience SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Demonstrated expertise in cardiac testing, mechanics and required equipment. Skilled in performing routine cardiac tests as well as an in-depth understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people. Time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline. Broad knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook). Prioritize and delegate assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve department objectives and meet deadlines. Work autonomously, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions. Identify, evaluate and resolve complex that arise with little or no precedent. Ensure the privacy of each patient’s PHI. Build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.
