OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented ECG Technician to join our healthcare team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position requires performing Exercise Stress tests, Stress portion of Stress Echos, ECGs, Holters. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing electrocardiograms (ECGs) on patients, ensuring accurate readings and providing essential data to assist healthcare providers in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of medical terminology.

EDUCATION TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • Cardiac Technician diploma (or equivalent) with active registration and membership in good standing with CSCT.
  • Recent clinical experience in Stress Echos, Exercise stress tests, and Holter hook-ups.
  • Experience with Holter scanning and knowledge of NORTH-EAST Holter Software.
  • Ability to follow Cardiac Care Network Guidelines for Stress Echos.
  • Advanced arrhythmia interpretation skills.
  • CPR training/certification.
  • Medical knowledge and experience is an asset
  • New graduates are welcome to apply; training will be provided.
  • Clinical experience is an asset.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to independently perform Stress Echos as per CCN protocol.
  • Knowledge of arrhythmia interpretation.
  • Technical thoroughness in inputting information into the PACS system.
  • Basic troubleshooting of cardiac equipment is an asset.
  • Ability to prepare accurate reports for physician interpretation.
  • Effective communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving, critical thinking, and prioritization in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work responsibly in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Exceptional bedside manners and respect for patient privacy.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Commitment to maintaining and improving individual competence.
