ABOUT THE ROLE
You’ll be playing a vital role in managing cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death globally, working in a friendly team which includes a Nursing Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Educator, Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse, Registered Nurses and Radiographers, supporting a medical team of Cardiologists and Cardiac Advanced Trainees.
The successful applicant in this role will be working within a multidisciplinary team to build a new pacemaker insertion service, as well as providing a continuity of care for all cardiac patients within the district.
This is a 0.5FTE position with the pacemaker insertion service occurring on a Tuesday and Thursday. The cardiology department is a 22 bed ward and works closely with the Interventional Catheterisation Laboratory (Cath Lab) who have an additional 12 beds.
The pace in the Cath Lab is fast, working with a skilled team and cutting edge technology, focusing on diagnosing and treating a wide variety of heart conditions, and performing procedures such as angiograms, angioplasties, pacemaker placements, and stent placements. Each case requires precise teamwork and quick decision-making and your compassionate care during high-pressure, life-saving procedures makes an immediate impact on the patient’s experience.
