Primary Duties and Responsibilities * Uses appropriate techniques with ultrasound equipment to supply diagnostic studies based upon physician request * Performs a variety of technical procedures to support physician’s diagnosis * Responsible for providing high quality imaging * Appropriately acquire echocardiographic measurements per protocol, create digital preliminary reports for the interpreting physician, and verbally communicate preliminary findings to the interpreting physician * Reviews physician order to verify appropriateness for order being performed * Retrieve studies from PACS for review * Perform appropriate infection control processes * Provide an environment of care that supports patient safety * Addresses patient educational needs as pertains to requested studies * Prepare patients for the study * Supports IAC Standards and Guidelines * Assures accuracy data for clinical reports, demographics and billing information for physician reports * Support team approach and service focus work with colleagues in a "team approach" to encourage a positive and service-oriented image for the department.
