We are seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Cardiothoracic Surgeon to lead and build our Cardiothoracic Surgery program in Sioux City. This is a high-impact opportunity to build a comprehensive Cardiovascular service line and keep care close to home. An open-heart surgery program in Sioux City builds upon UnityPoint Health’s commitment to cardiovascular care across our entire state. This program will utilize best practices and expertise from our open-heart programs in Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Waterloo and Quad Cities. Responsibilities Lead and grow a CTS program with strong system support Collaborate with established Interventional, Electrophysiology, General Cardiology and Vascular teams Build a sustainable 24-hour call model (shared coverage; PRN/locum support as needed) Strong referral base from employed physicians and community providers Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve Provide the best outcome for every patient every time Qualifications MD or DO Board Eligible or Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery Ability to obtain and hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the physician’s field of practice Experience building or expanding a program preferred Cardiothoracic surgical expertise Collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt) J-1 waiver sponsorship available We offer: Initial 2-year salary guarantee with ability to exceed on an innovative compensation program Attractive incentive package A competitive Total Rewards program offers benefits that align with your needs and priorities, no matter what stage of life you are in.
