Mission Australia is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care and Wellness Assistant to join our team and provide high-quality, person-centred care to our consumers. In this rewarding role, you’ll build positive relationships with residents and deliver personal, clinical, and lifestyle support that enhances wellbeing, dignity, and independence. Working in partnership with consumers, families, carers, and other professionals, you’ll ensure care is delivered safely, respectfully, and in line with Mission Australia’s values and policies. Perm Part Time Shift: Thursday and Friday morning shift. Your key responsibilities will be to: Provide personal care and assistance such as showering, dressing, and mobility support in a manner that maintains dignity and privacy Follow individualised care plans and communicate any changes in consumer needs, wellbeing, or behaviour Support consumers with mental health, drug and alcohol, or homelessness-related challenges using a compassionate, harm-minimisation approach Administer and document medication as prescribed and in accordance with Mission Australia policies and procedures Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care activities, incidents, and consumer progress Ensure a safe, clean, and homelike environment, supporting infection control and workplace health and safety procedures Build positive relationships with consumers to understand their needs and support autonomy and independence Participate in team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development related to Aged Care Standards and best practice Requirements for Success Certificate IV in Individual Support (Aged Care) or equivalent qualification. Demonstrated experience in delivering personal care within an aged care or community setting. Understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards and person-centred care principles. Compassionate, respectful, and professional communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
