Role Description This is a parr-time role based in Richmond Upon Thames. The Care Assistant will support clients with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility assistance, and help with meals and medication prompts in line with individual care plans. The role involves offering companionship, engaging clients in social and recreational activities, and encouraging independence in a safe and supportive manner. The Care Assistant will observe and record changes in clients’ health or wellbeing, communicate promptly with supervisors and families, and contribute to maintaining a respectful and dignified care environment. The position requires following all care procedures, safeguarding and health and safety guidelines, and working flexibly, including some evenings and weekends, to meet client needs.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong caregiving skills, including experience with personal care, Dementia Care, and supporting individuals with varied needs.
• Candidates should possess excellent Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build trust, listen actively, and collaborate effectively with clients, families, and colleagues.
• Candidates should possess safe Manual Handling skills and an understanding of mobility support and basic health and safety practices.
• Candidates should possess reliability, empathy, patience, and a client-centered approach, with a commitment to maintaining dignity and respect.
• Candidates should possess the ability to follow care plans, keep accurate records, and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant care certifications or training (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent) and prior experience in home care or community care are beneficial.
• A valid right to work in the UK, satisfactory background checks, and willingness to undertake ongoing training are required.
