Fernsby Brookes is seeking compassionate and reliable Care Workers to join our growing team. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting people in their own homes, helping them maintain independence, dignity and a high quality of life.
You will be providing person-centred care to clients with a range of needs, including physical disabilities, learning difficulties, dementia, Alzheimer’s and autism.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in domiciliary or residential care is desirable, but not essential – full training will be provided.
  • Experience supporting individuals with dementia, disabilities, or complex needs is an advantage.
  • Must have a caring, patient and respectful approach.
  • Good communication skills and ability to build trusting relationships.
  • Ability to follow care plans and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety, confidentiality, and safeguarding practices.
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Support clients with personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, and toileting.
  • Prepare meals and support with feeding, dietary needs and meal planning.
  • Provide safe mobility assistance and help with transfers, using appropriate equipment when required.
  • Administer or prompt medication in line with individual care plans and policies.
  • Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote emotional wellbeing.
  • Carry out light household tasks to ensure a clean and safe living environment.
  • Report concerns or changes in health, mood or behaviour to the Care Manager promptly.
  • Maintain accurate daily care records and adhere to CQC regulations and safeguarding procedures.
