Job Description About Me I was born with Pontocerebellar Hypoplasia, Dystonia, Seizures and Choreoathetoid Involuntary Movement Disorder. My dystonia causes me to become distressed and so I have regular medications and an escalation plan to manage this. I am also oxygen dependent, requiring up to 2L of nasal prong oxygen often and require regular nasopharyngeal and oral suction as well as regular chest physiotherapy to manage my secretions. Please ensure care staff are assessed and signed off as competent within my package to do so. I am registered at Bray’s school but am currently not well enough to attend. My parents and carers provide tactile and sensory activities to keep me entertained throughout the day. I am relaxed and easy going. I like to have people around me, be involved in conversations and for people to hold my hand. When I become distressed, I like to be comforted by being cuddled by people I know. I like to watch children’s tv such as Omar and Hana and listen to music in the background. My family are very important to me and my mum knows how to manage my symptoms well to keep me comfortable. I enjoy my sister talking to me and being around people I love. I dislike going out and can get very upset. I prefer to stay at home, and be pain free and comfortable. I have limited movement due to my condition but I like to explore tactile toys with my hands. I have a history of multiple admissions to PICU due to recurrent chest infections and dystonia. As a result, correct oral/NP suction techniques are important as well as following my dystonia plan accurately. I also have multiple allergies and require an Epi-Pen to be available at all times. My allergies include: eggs, chicken, ALL dairy and Epimax paraffin free ointment. If I am exposed to this, severe anaphylaxis can occur.
