Job Description What you’ll do About Me I am 13 years old, I live at home with My Mum, Dad and two sisters, My brother has recently moved out. I love my family and like it when they come to play with me. I was born by c-section but unresponsive at birth, I was giving full resuscitation, but a heartbeat was not detected for 15 minutes. This resulted in me having severe hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, Quadriplegic cerebral palsy, epilepsy, hip dislocation and a severe learning disability. I am pn continual oxygen. I also have daily chest physio and suctioning to help shift my secretions and decrease the risk of me having a chest infection and a drop in oxygen saturations. I also have all my nutrition and medications given to me via my gastrostomy. I enjoy my siblings talking to me, music, musical toys and Mr Tumble. I am nonverbal but I can smile and make audible noises to communicate my feelings, and I track with my eyes. Although I am nonverbal, I like to be part of the conversation so please talk to me. I like to spend time with my sisters, I enjoy watching them play with all of their toys. Smiling and audible sounds - crying when in pain. Muslim, family speak Urdu. Please recognise I may be nonverbal due to my condition at times, please return when I am better able to verbalise. I have epilepsy that is well managed by my medication. I have seizures that are self-resolving and only last a few seconds. Please make sure that I am safe when having a seizure and that you stay with me and offer reassurance.
