Dovehaven Care Homes are recruiting for a Care Assistant to join our team at Millbrook House Nursing Home, Birch Street in Southport. Working Days 8am- 8pm with every other weekend involved, 33hr & 22hr Contract available.

Millbrook House is a Nursing home catering for up to 60 residents. The home specialises in dementia care, and our aim is to ensure all our residents feel as comfortable as possible. Our homes promote independence, dignity and respect through positive risk taking and empowerment.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Committed to providing a high standard of care, promoting dignity and respect.
  • Previous experience working within an elderly care setting.
  • Team player but able to work on your own initiative.
  • Dependable, able to work well under pressure and flexible to meet the needs of the Home.
  • Previous supervisory experience within a care/nursing home setting and experience of working with the elderly.
  • A minimum of a NVQ level 2 in health & social care along with a dedicated passion for providing exceptional care.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a care assistant, you will work together with other staff in the running of the home. You will aim to maintain high standards of care and service towards service users, relatives, visitors and other members of staff. You will be providing a range of personal and practical care to our residents.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate compassion, empathy and a person-centred approach to caring for older people.
  • Self-motivated, resilient and well-organised
  • Able to work well under pressure and flexible to meet the needs of the residents and the Home.
  • Provide assistance, personal care, activities and companionship to residents
  • Be alert to residents’ needs, health and wellbeing
  • Respect the residents’ dignity and privacy
  • Work with residents and their families to deliver tailored care to each individual
  • Assist with mealtimes and safe moving
  • Maintain accurate records for each resident
