You will help individuals maintain independence where possible, offering encouragement, companionship, and emotional support throughout the day. The role involves monitoring residents’ conditions, reporting any changes to senior staff, and accurately documenting care activities. You will work closely with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Thetford, requiring flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities to build trust, listen effectively, and interact professionally with residents, families, and colleagues.
• Candidates should possess caregiving experience or a demonstrable interest in care work, with practical skills in providing personal care and supporting daily living activities.
• Candidates should possess dementia care awareness or experience, including patience, understanding of behavioral changes, and person-centered approaches to support individuals living with dementia.
• Candidates should possess manual handling skills, including safe moving and handling techniques and a commitment to following health and safety guidelines.
• Relevant qualifications such as a care-related certificate (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care or equivalent), or willingness to work towards one, are beneficial.
• Additional beneficial attributes include reliability, resilience, ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, basic record-keeping skills, and a commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality.
• Previous experience in residential or domiciliary care, and up-to-date training in first aid, infection control, and safeguarding, is an advantage but not essential.
