OVERVIEW

Umbrella Health Care are seeking dedicated self-employed Care Assistants to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals ensuring their comfort, safety and well-being. You will play a vital role in supporting our clients to live and remain independent in their own homes. Our clients are located across Castle Point including Canvey Island, Benfleet and Hadleigh.
Please note a driving licence is not mandatory but candidates must be able to travel to clients (bus, bike, scooter, by foot etc)
Full training (theory & practical) is provided

SKILLS

  • Experience in home care or working within a care home setting is advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided.
  • Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with clients and team members.
  • This role will be subject to an enhanced DBS check (criminal record)
  • Ability to understand and implement care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Proficiency in IT skills for documentation and communication purposes.
  • A valid driving licence with access to your own vehicle is advantageous but not essential
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others are essential qualities for success in this role.

Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, oral care etc.
  • Support individuals with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Help with meal preparation and feeding as needed as well as food shopping
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress and adhere to established care plans.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Attend appointments or social activities as required.
  • Provide companionship support to promote mental and emotional well-being.
