Due to an internal promotion we are looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised GP Practice Care Co-Ordinator to join our team. The Role:
As a Care Co-Ordinator, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth operation of the practice. You will be responsible for managing patient records, scheduling appointments, liaising with medical professionals, and providing general administrative support. This is a vital role in ensuring the practice runs efficiently, and you will have the opportunity to contribute to an excellent patient experience.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience working in a GP Practice setting is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in using computer systems and software, ideally including medical management software such as EMIS Web.
  • A compassionate and professional approach when dealing with patients.
  • A proactive, team-oriented attitude with the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities
  • Manage appointment scheduling and patient enquiries, ensuring a high standard of customer service.
  • Promote and educate patients on digital channels to allow them to support and manage their health more effectively.
  • Maintain and update patient records accurately in the electronic health record system.
  • Assist with managing referrals and liaising with hospitals and specialists.
  • Handle telephone calls, both incoming and outgoing, in a professional and compassionate manner.
  • Ensure that confidentiality and data protection standards are maintained at all times.
  • Support the practice with other ad-hoc administrative tasks as required.
