Description JOB SUMMARY: The Diplomat/Care Monitor works closely with onsite staff, providing support and monitoring of the site to ensure a safe environment for staff and residents. Site Monitor reports to the Site Manager. The schedule for this position is shift-based. Swing shift is from 3pm – 11:30pm. Shifts may change as needed to meet operational needs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Refer any operational, security or client issues, including de-escalation needs, to the Site Manager. Assist Site Managers with client needs, including; delivering toiletries, towels, linens, and other items as needed, and escorting cleared (asymptomatic) clients to their rooms. Engage participants to help orient them to the hotel site. Deliver meals to participants’ room doors. Support monitoring the site and reporting violations of hotel/motel rules and regulations. Prepare participant rooms for occupancy (e.g., apply mattress covers, pillow covers, stock room with supplies, etc.). Assist with setting up participant intake tables. Perform light-duty cleaning and sanitation duties in the common areas utilized by the staff. May be given other duties in support of the site management. Flexible and willing to perform other tasks as assigned. Requirements Ability to work well with diverse staff and clientele including cultural, language, sexual identity, gender, and other diversity considerations. Ability to work successfully both independently and cooperatively. Ability to speak, read, and write clearly in English. Ability to successfully and efficiently complete tasks in an environment with background noise and interruptions. Record keeping and confidentiality: All information seen/heard at an emergency housing site is CONFIDENTIAL. This includes the site name and address, and any information about guests or staff. Sign in and out daily. Complete the Activity Log form for every shift. Demonstrates a strong understanding of the city and state political and community service environment (e.g., community service leaders, partners, organizations, critical state-wide community service needs, legislative leaders, government officials, major stakeholders, etc.). Previous government relations, non-profit, and grassroots organizing experience is strongly preferred. Non-profit experience working in local or state government is preferred.
