Responsibilities

OVERALL PURPOSE:

As an Agency Care Officer / Senior Care Assistant, you will lead a team of care workers during shifts and participate in the delivery of care for individuals with acute and complex needs. This role requires flexibility across various shift patterns to ensure 24/7 resident support.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Supervise and guide a team of care workers, providing support and handling escalated issues to ensure high-quality care delivery.
  • Assist with resident admissions and discharges, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Provide personal care support, including assistance with toileting, bathing, dressing, eating, and drinking.
  • Manage medication, ensuring proper handling, storage, administration, and coordination with pharmacies.
  • Promote effective communication and treat all individuals with dignity, compassion, and respect.
  • Maintain accurate daily care records in accordance with defined systems, ensuring an auditable record of care provided.
  • Document and report any accidents, incidents, or significant events promptly.
  • Conduct professional handovers to ensure continuity of care and support across shifts.
  • Perform any other duties appropriate to the grade and level of responsibility of the post.
