The role Our Care Partners are essential in enriching the lives of residents living with dementia. Unlike the traditional HCA or DT roles, Care Partners are resident-led. As a Care Partner, you’ll work in partnership with residents to support their personal needs and connect them with activities that foster enrichment, connection and dignity. You’ll work closely with residents and their whānau, offering compassionate support that nurtures both the individual and their loved ones. Every day, you’ll help enhance the lives of people living with dementia, building relationships that make a real difference in their world. What you’ll be doing: Supporting residents in engaging in activities that has meaning to them. Supporting and encouraging residents using a strength-based approach. Engaging with residents in all aspects of their life, spanning from assistance with personal cares to arranging an outing or supporting activities to enhance quality of life for the resident. Building relationships with residents, families/whanau and other team members to support an individualised approach to each resident’s care plan. What you’ll bring: A passion to support and enable people living with dementia to promote and maintain skills and abilities A kind and caring nature and a willingness Has great people skills and who has an empathy for working with people living with dementia and their families Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to be flexible and open minded in your approach to supporting residents, whilst still adhering to company policies and procedures Flexible multitasking and time management skills.
